It is my intention to hit the nail right on its head and present to aspiring yogis direct easy to use tools to answer most people’s most pressing concerns…

Will I be able to handle the practice, physically and mentally? How will my mind and my body react? What really goes on? Can I really trust that if I still my body I can still my mind…that they really instinctively need Yoga and Meditation?

The short answer is “YES” and my catchy name for this is The Easy Seat. Yoga as taught through the Sutras is the missing link to a calm positive outlook on life as a human.

I want to teach you how to actively and effectively manage the sensations you will likely feel during yoga class, while sitting on your meditation cushion, and in your everyday life.

Yoga is everywhere and can be applied to anything, sometimes in The Easy Seat you will find posts about where I have found Yoga in my everyday life and sometimes you will find posts like this one that refer to the Yoga Sutras themselves.

The word Yoga comes from the ancient Hindu dialect, Sanskrit, and means “to yoke”.

My plan is to show you how to yoke (to join) together movement, breath, focus and meditation—in other words the underlying physiology and science of Yoga into actual easily accessible life skills.

These skills can be used now today, right now, as a parent-a daughter or a son, and as a human being because these are not only Yoga skills they are also life skills.

In other words—mastery of these skills will enable you to sit comfortably in class, in meditation and enable you to take The Easy Seat in your daily life… :)

It is my direct experience that Yoga and our human bodies including our brains are deeply and instinctively related to one another.

A tiny word about Yoga. You start by sitting down with what you’ve got and Yoga meets you where you are whether it is on the mat, the meditation cushion, the golf course, or at the office. You apply Yoga to anything and it is the better for it.

You come as you are and today is a great day to get started. So put your foot on this path and let’s go…
