Hi ,
Sorry for the delay in sharing my decisions but as of this morning even technology was conspiring against me.
Your health and safety is my top priority. I am closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and implementing the guidelines outlined by the CDC and The City of Pittsburgh as best I can.
I am sure you are more than aware, that COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) is an active pandemic and therefore protective measures must be taken to reduce the spread of this disease.
I am very much a "STAY CALM AND WASH YOUR HANDS" kind of girl. However, I do believe it is our civic and social duty to do what we can to prevent the spread of this virus as well as the flu.
My goal is to continue to provide an oasis of calm— a space in which we can all practice and stay healthy together for as long as possible. At this time, all scheduled classes and workshops are still on. I will continue to offer Birth Doula Services.
Private Prenatal and Regular yoga classes are available with Debbie. To schedule you must call, 412-892-8740.
All this is of course subject to change. Please continue to check the home page or class schedule page regarding class cancellations.
So far I have felt it prudent to adopt a wait and see approach. I also wanted to familiarize myself with the measures taken by my fellow yoga studios so that I could best gauge my own responses. This is one of those moments where I am grateful to be such a small studio.
But there is no denying that The Yoga Whole is a shared space used by the Pittsburgh community and it is also a space shared with Pregnant women and at times infants. We must all do what we can to keep our community safe and the spread of this disease contained.
So here goes:
I will be implementing extra cleaning measures, providing disinfection sprays and cloths, and will clean all shared surfaces daily. Also the following changes/practices are effective immediately.
Please consider these CDC recommendations and follow theses guidelines to help avoid the spread of this and other viruses:
- If you are sick, please stay home to rest and recover—remaining home until you are well.
- If you have traveled or believe that you have in any way come in contact with the virus please remain home until you are assured that you are infection free.
- WASH YOUR HANDS DIRECTLY UPON ENTERING THE STUDIO.
- I encourage the use your own yoga mat. If you must borrow a mat, please use the cloths and disinfectant spray provided to wipe down the mat at the end of class.
- Please bring a personal towel to provide an extra layer of protection between yourself and shared surfaces.
- Fiber does not allow the virus to live, so blankets and bolsters will continue to be available. Nevertheless I will launder blankets after usage.
- Please place a blanket or your own towel over top of a bolster if using.
- I encourage you to bring your own yoga props. If you use the community props, please clean them at the end of class.
- I have stocked the studio with disinfectant spray etc. and will monitor the inventory of these supplies in all shared spaces.
At present I have only a very small bottle of hand sanitizer but I am working to source out more. You are encouraged to bring and use your own—and if you have a spare bottle to donate to The Yoga Whole I would be happy to reimburse you for the expense.
For more information on the virus please refer to the CDC. Here is the CDC's FAQ on COVID-19 and pregnancy
I thank you for helping me to keep the studio clean and safe for all, and for your patience and understanding in these trying times.
Please take care!
Namaste,
Debbie Vignovic The Yoga Whole, Owner
